How is it possible to get a new smile with only 4 dental implants?

The All-on-4 dental implant protocol is a treatment plan where implants are placed strategically (2 implants are parallel and the other 2 tilted at 45 degrees) so that it has a good mechanical retention to support the titanium bar.

 

How long do the All-on-4 dentures last?
Dentures have a quality of life of approximately 15 years, this includes periodic reviews with your dentist and maintenance of them. They also require daily care as if they were your natural teeth. We must take care of them and brush them when we wake up and before bed and after every meal.

 

What are the new teeth made of?

The dentures have an inner titanium structure, and the teeth themselves can be either porcelain or acrylic. Both of these materials provide the resistance necessary to withstand the chewing forces of your bite.

 

How do I know that I am a candidate for All-on-4?

After an evaluation with the doctor through x-rays, CT scans and a clinical review, and depending on the amount of bone and remnants of teeth they can determine if you are a candidate for either procedure.

 

Can I use my own dentures and adjust them?

Doctor Wendy: What was the difference between the prices in Hawaii and here in Cancun?

Joshua: They can’t even be compared. In Hawaii the cost is at least three times more expensive, including the cost of the trip to come here so, the price put it out of reach for me there, I wasn’t even able to consider having it done there I would have just gotten a simple set of dentures, which also would have been very expensive, and I wouldn’t have been happy at all with the final outcome. A mixed dental implant solution with All-on-4

For today’s post about All-on-4, we will talk about our dear patient June Penny who made a video about her journey to get the smile of her dreams. It all started about three years ago, when June began doing extensive research about implant dentures and her possible options to perform this procedure. She found out about our dental implant clinic in Cancun, and decided to get in touch with us.

At the time, she couldn’t afford the whole All-on-4 treatment so, instead, she decided to get Snap in Dentures in the meantime. What’s the difference between Snap in Dentures and All-on-4? The difference is quite easy. Snap in Dentures are adapted dentures with o-rings that can be removed from the mouth and stay in place with the help of mini implants. They don’t have roof of the palate either so the patient can still enjoy the normal flavors of food and don’t worry about the usual gag reflex that accompanies regular dentures.

 

Snap in Dentures are removable and after a year, she felt she was ready to take the next step. She liked her Snap in Dentures but she had always had in mind getting a “permanent” solution in All-on-4 dental implants. When she returned a year later, she got All on 4 implants on the top arch of her mouth. She had decided to wait and save enough to do this in Cancun too, as All on 4 in USA was about 35,000 USD per bridge!

 

June suggests other people who are suffering pain because of bad teeth, that they get the all-on-4 protocol if they can, because, while Snap in Dentures are very practical, she feels that nothing beats for the bridge to be fixed.
